Mikey Kass, a successful 7-figure dropshipper, created the Ecom Good Life as a wallet-friendly course at $17, making it a good choice for both beginners and experienced dropshippers. The Ecom Good Life training is logged with market research for selling more winning products, going beyond just Shopify store automation. But there is a lot of negative attention Mikey Kass is getting online from students due to exaggerated income claims, limited focus on free traffic methods like SEO, focusing too much on Facebook ads, and not giving students enough personalized support. There’s also the low-profit potential and control you run into with the dropshipping business model.

The Strengths

  • Mikey Kass is a 7-figure dropshipper himself, which means the course has an overall solid reputation in the ecommerce space
  • Ecom Good Life is only $17, which means it's a good choice for beginners who want to create a Shopify store that replicates Mikey's selling strategies.
  • The training emphasizes market research to find winning products, which means you'll get value beyond automation.

The Weaknesses

  • Exaggerated earning potential claims, which means you'll need to reconiser your expectations based on the small investment required
  • There's a limited marketing focus in the training, which means you won't learn a full suite of marketing strategies like SEO and Google Ads.
  • A complete lack of control and profit potential with the dropshipping business model, which means you could be putting in a lot of time and effort for little reward.

TLDR – What’s The Verdict On The Ecom Good Life?

TLDR - What’s The Verdict On The Ecom Good Life?

Rather than scroll straight to the end for a clear-cut answer, I’ll spare you the trouble: Ecom Good Life might not be the golden ticket to passive income that you’re looking for.

For all intents and purposes, the Ecom Good Life is running a good track; Mikey Kass takes care of creating your Shopify store, fills it with winning products, and teaches you how to power your dropshipping investment with Facebook ads.

Sounds pretty cut and dry…

But let’s look between the lines here.

There are just too many things that can go wrong when trying to tackle the almighty beast of dropshipping.

First of all, expecting to get insane results from a $17 dollar store is just a disappointment waiting to happen, and the math just isn’t adding here.

Especially when Mikey claims that you’re lucky enough to snag one of eight of his last remaining Shopify stores.

But think of it this way: It’s a lot like trying to re-create a movie people have watched a thousand times–not only was it a flop, but it most likely leaves you in the hole in budgeting.

And like any bad movie, your Shopify site will start to look like a ghost town in terms of visitors.

Not only the raging debt part, but you’re always on the hunt for your next winning product. This means you’ll constantly be racing thousands of other Shopify sellers just to stay two steps ahead of your niche competition.

This can get tiring and leads many dropshippers to quit before they even see the daylight of their return on investment.

Which helps me bring up a good point: Most dropshipping gurus are great at selling you the idea that the biz is risk-free to join and succeed. Yet they always leave out the fact that you have to invest a lot more capital to start your online business than just $17 – or whatever they decide to charge as an entry fee for their program.

For example, it’s becoming known that running a dropshipping business (and a successful one at that) takes a lot more marketing efforts to stand out these days.

But why?

Extreme competition in the ecommerce world.

Because dropshipping is peddled as an online venture that anyone can join, that’s exactly what people are doing. That competition usually means going the extra mile to make sure you’re noticed and that people actually buy from you.

But competition is only one of many things you have zero control over in dropshipping, unfortunately.

This brings me to another blaring problem: The utter lack of control in the ecommerce industry.

This extends to every aspect down to the selling process, including supplier issues, inventory problems, customer problems and returns, Shopify and Facebook ad account bans, just to name a few.

All that work just for a 15% profit? It just doesn’t seem worth it to me.

Still, there are other ways to generate passive income online that don’t involve:

  • Choosy suppliers
  • High competition
  • Low profit margins
  • No control over cheap products

There are much better systems out there, like the Digital Rental Method, that offer 100% full control of your business.

Instead of relying on risky methods like business automation to play the cards for you, why not maximize your profit with a high-converting skill you can learn yourself?

Who Benefits From The Ecom Good Life And Who Doesn’t?

Who Benefits From The Ecom Good Life And Who Doesn't?

Sure, the program is affordable. But time is money, and the course can end up draining yours if it’s not for you.

Here’s how to tell:

Who could benefit from The Ecom Good Life:

  • Anyone looking to start their dropshipping experience on an extreme budget and low expectations. The Ecom Good Life doesn’t cover anything beyond the top few fundamentals of creating and scaling your Shopify store.
  • A beginner in the ecommerce industry who is looking for nothing more than the basics of Shopify dropshipping.
  • An aspiring ecommerce seller who wants to learn how to make money online in dropshipping by taking an automated approach. Mikey Kass basically hands you over an already-built Shopify store, taking a lot of upfront work out of the equation for you.

Who Ecom Good Life is definitely not for:

  • Anyone with realistic earning expectations from a low-priced course like Mikey’s.
  • An online solopreneur who is looking for more ways to drive traffic rather than just paid social media ad efforts. the course neglects other marketing strategies like SEO and Google ads.
  • Someone looking for control over more aspects of their online business. most issues dropshippers face are out of a seller’s control, despite their best efforts.

Mikey Kass Review: 1,000 FT View Of The Ecom Good Life

Here’s a look at The Ecom Good Life from a birds-eye view:

What Is The Ecom Good Life Business Model?

What Is The Ecom Good Life Business Model

The Ecom Good Life uses the dropshipping business model to offer $17 pre-built Shopify stores to all dropshippers looking to skip straight to the scaling part of their ecommerce selling journey.

It’s a bold promise on Mikey’s part… pay him enough cash to cover his lunch, and boom… you’re set up with a full-fledged operating Shopify in return.

Beyond gifting you with a ready-to-go online store, there’s some general information you’ll find about dropshipping fundamentals, like Facebook ads and research targeting, inside the Ecom Good Life training.

But… what’s the reality of some of Mikey’s main promises?

Something I notice with a lot of these dropshipping gurus is that they’re gifted at recycling advice or inserting the necessary nuggets of information in their trainings. But they still fail to teach you to actually implement what you’re learning in these glossed-over modules.

People don’t like to pay for what they can find for free on YouTube, and it looks like many of his students are complaining about just that.

What’s even more weird to me is the whole music playlist module. Couldn’t Mikey have thought of a more valuable dropshipping lesson to dedicate that module to instead of filling it with a fluff recommendation for music?

It screams he’s trying desperately to fill in the blanks.

What makes a course worthwhile is the guru’s ability to bring something new to the table and help their students reach the other side of success. In Ecom Good Life’s case… tell me something I don’t know, ya know?

Who Is Mikey Kass?

Who Is Mikey Kass

One of the younger guys to jump headfirst into the ecommerce arena, Mikey Kass is your typical dropshipping guru success story. A high school dropout, he turned $150k dropshipper in a matter of weeks—all before turning 18.

This overnight success started to attract some unwanted attention from Mikey’s parents, who subsequently hired a private investigator to make sure this business model wasn’t anything illegal.

In the meanwhile, Mikey turned to complete tunnel vision and continued to build his successful Shopify store over the next year, up until the launch of his flagship course, The Ecom Good Life.

The idea of going from zero to a hundred in a matter of weeks is Mikey’s selling point, and a good one at that. It has basically gotten him a lot of attention over the years and has allowed him to open the door to his success in the dropshipping world.

But what makes great coaches is what they do beyond their own successes, and it’s something that Mikey has yet to master as a youngster in this space.

Can You Make Money With A $17 Pre-Built Shopify Store?

How is it possible to profit from a 17 Shopify store? Mikey’s pitch is, if a high school dropout can do it, why can’t you?

It’s a pretty good argument, especially if the work is being done for you.

But the question is, how valuable is the Shopify store you’re being handed over? Are Mikey’s students actually making money online from it, or is it just a cash grab?

I’ll start by saying this: dropshipping on a large scale is a profitable market. The growing industry is expected to reach over $370 billion next year and continue climbing.

But it seems like Mikey’s strategy of duplicating low-quality stores jam-packed with low-quality products isn’t working based on his lack of student success.

This is where the problem with heavy saturation comes in. Mikey is sending out the message that anyone can set up a store and find the same products that can be sold over and over again.

This is true, but this inauthentic approach won’t attract any customers in the short or long term.

The angle he took with dropshipping might have worked for him at the time, but it’s much harder to duplicate a winning story than it is a profitable dropship store.

How Much Does The Ecom Good Life Cost?

Mikey uses some pretty clever marketing tactics in promoting his course. According to him, the course is valued at $497, but he’s generously offering it at $17 for a “limited-time offer.”

This goes for anyone who wants to shoot their shot at dropshipping, whether you’re new or don’t have the time to set up your store yourself.

Is There A Refund Policy?

Assuming you haven’t completed more than 20% of the training modules in your first 7 days of joining, the money-back guarantee holds true.

Ironically, most other dropshipping courses require a lot more of a checklist from you that you’ve actually tried and failed their teachings, but it looks like Mikey doesn’t want you to leave his teachings without taking too much with you.

How’s The Ecom Good Life’s Online Reputation?

How's The Ecom Good Life's Online Reputation

There isn’t a lot of positive chatter in the works when you search for Mikey Kass’ name on the internet. In fact, you probably won’t find any success stories from students beyond the positive testimonials shown on his main website.

What you will find, however, are lots of unhappy students taking to online forums to share their less-than-fortunate experiences dealing with Mikey Kass.

Beyond the name-calling, many students on Trustpilot call out the Ecom Good Life course for failing to disclose upsells for their stores and for not keeping up with their end of the bargain on one-on-one training.

The same sentiments echo on Reddit, where more complaints flood in about Mikey Kass going MIA when it comes to giving any sort of help beyond the training modules.

In other words, don’t be surprised when you get what you pay for.

My Personal Opinion – Is The Ecom Good Life Legit?

My Personal Opinion - Is The Ecom Good Life Legit?

If you’re an avid reader of my blog, you’ll know that I have plenty to say about the ecommerce business model as a whole—the good, the bad, and everything in between.

So, is Ecom Good Life actually legit?

When it comes to Mikey Kass and his flagship course, it is in fact a legitimate dropshipping training program from the outside.

With his price drop of 17 for his course, it’s hard to sway you away from what he brings to the table.

Then again, time wasted is just as bad as money wasted, if not more.

How can you expect a heavily replicated $17 Shopify course to deliver results up to 10k a month?

This false dream that gurus push is it’s far-fetched and only gives people false expectations of the reality of dropshipping.

There are countless problems dropshippers face when running a store that Mikey (or any guru, for that matter) won’t tell you about. Roadblocks that usually end up draining your bank account, like inventory costs, ad spend, ad bans, shipping problems, customer returns… the list goes on.

In fact, many of these hurdles can directly lead to the infamous 10% profit margins that dropshipping is known for.

Still, there are much better systems out there, like the Digital Rental Method, that offer 100% full control of your business.

And with that control comes the advantage of:

  • high-profit margins
  • low competition
  • No ads bans
  • Higher barrier to entry

Instead of relying on risky methods like business automation to play the cards for you, why not maximize your profit with a high-converting skill you can learn yourself?

What’s Inside The Ecom Good Life?

What’s Inside The Ecom Good Life?

The Ecom Good Life training is made up of a series of video trainings that cover the basic rules of becoming a successful seller on Shopify. Here’s a module breakdown:

Introduction From Mikey Kass

Before the training modules begin, Mikey kicks the training off by taking it back to the basics of dropshipping. This section is reserved if you’ve never created a dropshipping store before or if you’re just starting your ecommerce journey.

You’ll get your footing in what tools you need to begin your online business and terms to familiarize yourself with, like niche targeting and advertising your store.

Mindset Training

The first section of Mikey’s training focuses on mindset training. Specifically, you’ll learn what to expect when preparing and launching your Shopify store and how to hire a team to grow your business.

Shopify Store Development

This section is the meat-and-potatoes of the training. The store-creating section covers the ins and outs of building a successful dropshipping business, from familiarizing yourself with the platform to building your brand.

Facebook & TikTok Ads

The first section of the Ecom Good Life dives right into the heart of driving traffic to your Shopify store with Facebook and TikTok ads. Mikey teaches you how to leverage the popularity of social media to attract the most eyes to your listings, hence, maximizing your profits.

Target Winning Products

Now that you’ve got your Shopify store launched, naturally, you’d want to fill it with the best-trending products on the market. Module 3 dives into market research methods when choosing the most profitable products to sell.

Here, Mikey gives you personal tips on what tools to use for the most accurate results. By leveraging this kind of market data, you can hopefully maximize the chance of selling most of the products in your store.

Music Playlist

Here’s a little treat you won’t find in other Shopify building courses.

In a bonus module, Mikey shares his personal playlist that inspires him in his creative process. Depending on whether you have the same music taste, maybe listening to a few hype tracks wouldn’t hurt your Shopify store journey too.

Conclusion

The Ecom Good Life sounds like the ultimate dropshipping package and might even fool people with their flashy ads of making insane numbers in a matter of months.

The reality is that Rome wasn’t built in a day. In the same way, you can’t expect your online success to either.

Expecting a Shopify store to deliver a 10k paywall overnight with the same products and slapped-together layout Mikey sold to other students who forked over $17?

The puzzle pieces just don’t fit in this game.

When you realize the low profit margins waiting for you on the other side of the fence, it’s obvious that dropshipping is a tough code to crack; even Ecom Good Life can’t break through.

Yet, there’s still a light at the end of this murky online business tunnel. One where you don’t need to sacrifice control or profitability just enough to keep from drowning.

Enter the Digital Rental Method.

If we’re talking about the Digital Rental Method, you don’t have to depend on staying ahead of the curve and selling countless cheap products just to have a slim chance of standing out above the rest.

Instead, you’re creating digital assets that practically grow and sell themselves over time.

What’s My #1 Top Pick Online Business Model For 2024?

What's My #1 Top Pick Online Business Model For 2024?

When it comes to the ecommerce business, I’ve pretty much tried my hand in all of them over the years. From selling hair products as a Clickbank affiliate to dropshipping decorative pillows on Shopify, I’ve pulled in my fair share.

But here’s what I learned along the way: There’s never going to be a “perfect” business model to start with. That being said, digital real estate comes pretty darn close.

No matter how much or little experience you have in this space, the Digital Rental Method is for you. It’s the best way to kill your day job, whether you’ve ever made a dime online.

Here’s why:

Flexible: Are you ready to quit your job and dive in full-time? There’s no need! Even with just an hour a day, you can make a difference in a Digital Rental Method business. Sure, it takes time to get results, but even chipping in a little each day is enough to achieve results.

I’m talking about flying to beautiful places like Maui, Tokyo, or France while collecting multiple checks worth $500 to $2,000. That’s pretty sweet!

Create a semi-passive income stream, and you won’t have to decide between time and money.

Full Ownership: You don’t actually own anything with dropshipping. You can’t control the quality of your product or even when it arrives.

Although you own your Shopify site, ad platforms could take you down at a moment’s notice… so you don’t really have much control over that either.

What’s the point of investing your heart into something that you could lose overnight, without warning?

The Digital Rental Method grants you full control and ownership of your assets without the hassle of inventory management.

Fulfillment Process: Perhaps you don’t need to worry about inventory, but overseas shipping can pose a new set of challenges.

With today’s global supply chain issues, it may take up to 6-7 weeks for your customers to receive their orders!

That means all the effort put into testing and advertising may be useless when your now-frustrated customer requests a refund.

Fortunately, you can avoid these issues if you rent out digital properties.

Copycat Method: The best part? It’s effectively copy-and-paste. Once you’ve set up your first Digital Rental Property, you can duplicate it and find another willing “tenant” in a day or two, doubling your income without much effort.

Dropshipping requires double the inventory sale, or double the profit margin to double your income. And I can assure you (from my Shopify dropshipping days), that’s a lot harder than what you might think!

Higher Profitability: Unlike dropshipping (and the Mikey Kass course), which often results in slim margins, Digital Landlordship offers nearly 100% profit margins with minimal startup costs.

With each digital rental property generating you up to 2k per month in passive income, adding more properties translates to more income with minimal effort on your part.

You can avoid spending a crazy amount on ads or driving traffic, making it an ideal choice for those seeking higher profits.

Making a Real Difference: You’re helping real people, and that’s the best thing about it. High ticket drop shipping often involves selling expensive products that are hard to come by, let alone sell, resulting in a lot of wasted ad spend.

With The Digital Rental Method, you’re bridging the gap between local businesses and their customers, helping them survive and grow, while also supporting struggling families. & you both get paid, so it’s a win-win. The Digital Rental Method is the ultimate way to create a positive impact on the world and sleep soundly at night.

Alternatively, you could just spend the rest of your life researching, never pulling the trigger.

Or, you can take a step forward and think about what you truly want out of life. You have the chance to join a program that turns dreams into a reality, just like it has for 2,000+ students who’ve discovered the Digital Rental Method.

With the right strategy, you can create a steady, reliable, and semi-passive income stream that doesn’t require much time or effort on your part.

So, instead of exploring other dropshipping programs like Ecom Good Life, choose the Digital Rental Method road and start making a real difference instead.

You’ll become financially free while growing other people’s businesses! It’s a complete win-win!

“My journey began like many others – the all too familiar corporate treadmill, where success seemed defined by long hours in a skyline office. I did well in school, climbed the corporate ladder, but fulfillment felt elusive.

Eventually, that feeling led me to the world of ecom, where I ran dropshipping, print on demand & FBA hustles that brought some successes – but they also brought many challenges.

It wasn’t until I found the Digital Rental Method that I really found my groove – which still happens to be my #1 recommendation for making money online!”
